Baggage Policy

Air India's baggage policy allows passengers to carry one personal item (Ladies' handbag, binoculars, laptop, umbrella, small amount of duty-free goods) that can fit under the seat in the front and must not exceed 6.6 lb. For carry-on baggage in premium economy and economy class, passengers can bring a bag with 15lb weight with a total dimension of 45.27in and 22lb weight with the exact dimensions in Business and First class. The total dimensions of checked baggage allowance are similar in all the classes, be it domestic or international routes, which is 62 inches. Passengers traveling on Domestic flights can carry one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 15lbs or 55lbs in economy and premium economy class. For domestic flights, passengers traveling in business or first-class cabins can carry two pieces of baggage, each weighing up to 77lbs. For international flights, passengers traveling in the economy or premium economy class can check in one piece of baggage weighing up to 50 lbs, whereas in business and first class, two pieces of baggage are allowed, each weighing up to 70 lbs. All baggage exceeding the required weight or size will be charged an extra fee.
